02.05.1915: Torpedoed and sunk without warning by German submarine U-41 (KL Hansen) in pos 57.23N, 01.10E. On voyage Sunderland to

                     Bergen With generalcargo. The vessel sank after 20 minutes. The crew manage to get into their lifeboats, and were

                     rescued dy D/S OGNE and D/S STERLING after 10 hours and taken to Newcastle.

                     AMERICA was the first Norwegian vessel which was torpedoed without warning in WW1
